AllergiesWhen we think of working out, often times we think of a long, intense, rigorous workout that will wipe us out and many times the thought of going through that when you are suffering from pesky allergies does not seem to appealing.  The truth is, exercise doesn’t have to be that intense to  to get blood circulating throughout the body and help get rid of those allergens.  Obviously you don’t want to over exert yourself, especially when your allergies are at their peak.  In fact, overexertion could exacerbate the problem.  However, moderate exercise can do wonders for sweating out the toxins and keeping the body strong and healthy.  (more…)

Protein ShakeSome of the advantages of drinking just a protein shake in the morning is that you are taking in relatively few carbohydrates, which means that if you are planning on doing exercise first thing in the morning, particularly cardio, the body will move into fat burning mode more quickly because there is not a lot of glycogen (blood sugar) in the system.  Consequently, the body will draw on fat stores more quickly and you will see more efficient fat loss.  Having the protein shake will help the body from catabolizing muscle tissue for energy during your workout.  So you will have enough energy to get through your workout or get on with your day but at the same time, the low carb breakfast will hasten fat loss.
