VitaminsFor women over the age of 40, it is important to make sure that you are taking the right supplements and vitamins to help combat some of the disadvantages of getting older. It’s also is great to help you stay healthy and fit. Below I have listed 4 supplements and vitamins that all women over the age of 40 should be taking on a regular basis.

B-Complex Vitamins:

B-Complex vitamins have the ability to reduce stress levels.  B-6 helps the body metabolize carbohydrates and proteins while B-12 helps maintain a healthy heart by metabolizing essential fatty acids. It also provides energy to help you get through the day! Make sure to include these in your daily diet!

Calcium

Helps prevent against osteoporosis as this is a very common problem for women over 40.  Most often, there is simply not enough calcium in the daily diet, so it is wise to add a calcium supplement daily. Just like when you were a kid, be sure to drink lots of milk along with taking an extra supplement daily to combat brittle bones.

Vitamin C

Helps to repair collagen that makes up part of the bone structure of the body as well as boost your immune system to combat any free radicals that you may come across. Vitamin C boasts antioxidant properties, which are proven to help reduce the risk of cancer.

Vitamin D

Is absolutely essential for women over the age of 40 as it helps the body absorb the calcium that is needed for healthy living.  It can also act as a means of keeping calcium inside the bones where it belongs, helping to keep bones strong!
